ICSI- Centre for Corporate Governance Research and Training (CCGRT) is the National Research and Training Centre of the Institute of Company Secretaries of India, a statutory body incorporated under an Act of Parliament functioning under the administrative jurisdiction of the Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The Centre was inaugurated in May 1999 by then Chief Justice of India Dr. A S Anand. The Centre is set up with the objective of fostering quality research, thereby nurturing the growth and development of students and members of the Institute. Over the years the Institute has remarkable grown to establish itself as a brand name in knowledge creation and dissemination of information for the growth of the profession.

ICSI-CCGRT has contributed remarkably in the past through its various initiatives towards Academics inputs, Corporate Training and Research. The ICSI officials at CCGRT are actively engaged in publishing research related to the profession and inculcating research acumen amongst students and members. ICSI-CCGRT has pioneered and successfully implemented the Full Time Integrated Company Secretary Course. The course is a mix of theory and practice, including industrial visit, interactions, training and internship with the objective of preparing the students to compete with allied professions and enable them to take up leadership positions in the corporate world.

ICSI-CCGRT invites research papers from members and encourage them to publish their quality research in the monthly publication of Chartered Secretary. The Centre orgainises joint workshops and training programmes with NSE, MCX and BSE on the new and emerging area of the Company Secretary profession. Some of the workshops conducted in the year 2016 were on the topics such as LODR and Independent Directors, SME Exchange, Symposium on Secretarial Audit.


ICSI-CCGRT is equipped with state of art training and research related facilities, a pleasant environ and world class physical infrastructure facilities and is ideally located. It is in the heart of Navi Mumbai, the city of the 21' Century, surrounded by rich, natural landscape and flanked by some of the ultra-modern architectural edifices. The Centre is away from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis, yet close enough to the city. A walkable distance from CBD Belapur Railway station and CBD Bus terminus.

The facilities include an auditorium of 180 persons capacity equipped with pleasant decor, latest audio visual, acoustics, lighting and public address system; two well-furnished computer rooms/labs; two conference halls each with a capacity of 50 persons, equipped with latest facilities, such as, TV, LCD Projector, Audio Visual Decks, Public Address System, six classrooms /lecture halls of variable sizes equipped with elegant furniture and other training related equipment. The Centre accommodates indoor and outdoor recreation facilities, two well equipped dining halls and a roof garden-cum-cafeteria for the recreational convenience of the inmates.

The Residential Wing accommodates participants and guests in 22 self-contained hostel rooms (twin sharing) with attached bathrooms and equipped with telephone facility. All facilities are comfortably air-conditioned with pleasant interiors providing conducive environment for learning and research.

A Library, with computers furnished with audio visuals and internet facility housing over 3000 books, current periodicals and reference literature is also in place.
